About the Author
Laura A. Freberg (Ph.D., UCLA) is Professor of Psychology at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she teaches courses in Introductory Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Sensation and Perception. Laura's teaching career began when she taught her first college course at Pasadena City College at the age of 23. To better understand the needs of the online education community, she also teaches a variety of psychology courses for Argosy University Online. Laura has received Faculty Member of the Year recognition from Cal Poly Disabilities Resource Center three times (1991, 1994, and 2009) for her work with students with disabilities. This book is pretty good and does a nice job showing diagrams for those who aren't used to this type of material. I recommend it to those just starting to learn about biological biology and neuroanatomy. This material is completely foreign to me and I can understand it well. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION AND US VERSION. except the international version is over 50% off
Great intro book! The authors explain things very well, and the pictures complement the text very well.
The book is in great condition
Most of the book is written well, but the more dry, time-consuming, complicated subjects (*ahem*action potential) are not done well, focusing on mechanisms and little things that aren't key to the big picture. The book is clearly written for a community college audience; it focuses on the sexy-nuts-and-sluts material beloved by the masses that take the classes and the clinicians who teach them. I have more of a problem with the way the content of the book is weighted than the way it's actually written, although that could use some work too. It's a decent text, you can get what you need to learn from it.

I was very happy that I found this book for a great price, but when I received it, I found out that it was the wrong edition.It had all the info that I needed but, having the wrong edition # posted was a misrepresentation. Not cool. I won't order from this person again.
