I had zero aviation or related training prior to picking up this book. I went over the book a few times and supplemented with Tony Northrup’s YouTube video. Also did the sample questions from 3dr. I just took the 107 test and only missed one question. This book covered pretty much everything. I was able to complete 107 test in less than 30 minutes and 100% confident I would pass. Save your money on expensive online courses. This along with Tony’s video covered it all.
Easy stuff to remember, if you supplement this book with the FAA guide you will pass your exam, if you can answer all the questions in this book you will pass the exam, now there are a few question they don't review in this guide like rdio frequencies, but other than that...all question provided in this guide are the exact question the FAA uses as a pool to draw from when you go to take the test, there are 300+ FAA sUAV questions and you will get a random 60 of the questions in this guide when you take your exam.Worth the money, plus you get the additional Knowledge Test Supplement book which sells for $15.00 here on amazon.
If you want to pass the exam, you need this book (or similar) for three reasons.1. This book provides the same reference material that you will use during the exam, and you need to get familiar with it.2. The material on the FAA website is not focused at all so you will waste a lot of time if that is your only study material, and3. The sample questions are invaluable! I even encounter an exactly the same question in the actual exam.However, this book is just a copy-and-paste reorganization of the FAA materials. They didn't rewrite it. It does not provide any summary or comparison to make studying more efficient. I would expect more from a book that is sold for profit.
Book was a big help in passing part 107 exam. Includes chapters and practice questions on the following: Regulations, National Air Space, Weather, Loading & Performance, and Operations. Also includes the Supplement book which is the same one the test center provides for you to use during your exam. Inside the front cover there's a code for 5 free online practice tests. I did all the practice questions (book & online). Took the exam today and only missed 2 questions. Definitely recommend this book!
AWFUL test prep. I am not sure where these people get their reviews, but this book is incredibly hard to follow and jumps all over the place in the sectional books. The brief paragraphs literally cover NOTHING that the questions in their quizzes cover. The only stuff I was able to get correct is the absolute common sense stuff that a three year old would know. As for the other stuff I learned literally not a thing. Don't waste your money.
My husband and I decided to purchase this book to study for the part 107 exam. We also watched a few YouTube videos online. We took all available practice tests we could find including the one on the FAA site. We were both able to pass the test with this book. I will say, there was a fair amount of information not covered in the book which was on the test. This left us guessing on a dozen or so questions, but given you only need 70% to pass, we were able to do so on our first attempt.
Used the book as one source to study for the Remote Pilot test and passed with a 94 grade. A shortcoming I found was that he book did not always adequately explain the answers.
Good preparation for the part 107 test, had questions and answers similar to the test but not exact. If you understand what areas you need to study based on this test prep and the 5 sample tests you should have no problem passing.
