Despite its centrality to Christianity, sustained and thoughtful theological reflections on the many facets of the Resurrection are virtually non-existent. This book provides a brilliant synthesis of those concepts.Abbott Jeremy leads the reader through the liturgies of the Triduum and the Easter season after a short but powerful introduction on the Resurrection. His primary focus is on the liturgies of Holy Week and their Scripture readings and the readings from the masses of the Easter Octave. He also provides at least a brief commentary on the dozens of readings that the Church has selected for the other mass readings for the Easter season. Through his liturgical exegesis he teaches on the Resurrection with the mind of the Church.The book would be profound and invaluable for people with no theological training and spiritual masters. It is perfect for bible studies and spiritual preparation for Holy Week. I also highly recommend his book "What Happens at Mass."I have read Awesome Glory twice since it arrived recently, and the reflections made me cry both times. I bought three copies to give as gifts.
